CENTRAL MARYLAND CHORALE

The Central Maryland Chorale began as the Laurel Oratorio Society, an association of choir members from local churches, who gathered together to sing Brahms' Requiem at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in 1969. Now celebrating its forty-second year of performing before appreciative local audiences, the Chorale is a non-auditioned chorus which attracts singers from the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area who enjoy singing choral masterworks, as well as lighter musical fare.

The Central Maryland Chorale has collaborated with the Columbia Orchestra, Queen Anne's Chorale, Prince George's Philharmonic, Annapolis Opera, Peabody Opera Theater, Maryland State Boychoir, and the United States Air Force Singing Sergeants and Concert Band. In addition, they have participated in the Vermont International Choral Festival in 2005 and in the Mid-America Productions concert of Rutter's Mass of the Children at Carnegie Hall in June 2009.
